We have created a home from home; somewhere we love to stay and we hope you will too. We've tried to think of everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

We always provide a welcome pack - chosen by Rosanna, our lovely Puglian friend, who looks after the house for us, when we're not there. Puglians are incredibly proud of their food and wine, and rightly so and Rosanna enjoys choosing bread, wine, cheese and fruit for you from the best local shops, ready for your arrival at the Trullo.

Rosanna can also provide a personal cooking service and will leave a menu of the food she can cook for you to look at. If it's something you fancy, let us know and we can arrange it, or you can call her directly as she speaks very good English and is charming. She will bring the food to the Trullo for you.

swimming pool

We've just finished our fabulous new pool. It's taken an extraordinarily long time to obtain all the permissions to build it, but we feel it was completely worth all the effort. It is 8x4 metres, has full width steps at one end and an even depth of 1.2 metres.

On the patio, we have an extendable dining table and chairs beneath the pergola, which gives dappled shade throughout the day. At night there are solar lights, lanterns and a variety of candles which you can use to make outside dining the way you would like it.

trullo

Although the trullo is one open space with classic conical voids rising into each of the four cones, we think of it as three recognisable areas: kitchen, living and dining.

In the kitchen you'll find all you would expect in a foodie kitchen; lots of kitchenware, pots, pans, dishes, sharp knives and a variety of chopping boards.

Kitchen with mosaic.

We have 2 sizes of mocha pot, (a stove top espresso maker), 2 cafetieres, a milk frother, salad spinner etc. We have a lovely range of glasses for you to use, including some new plastic 'glasses' for use by the pool. Our crockery is all from the local ceramic centre in Grottaglie, which is well worth a visit!

The mosaic splashback is by Hannah and is based on one of our favourite church floors in a nearby town, Corigliano d'Otranto.

We have a wide selection of cookery books for you to use, most of them, inevitably, are Italian cooking!!.

In the dining area, there is an extendable table which seats 6 comfortably. Placed in the smallest alcove it makes every meal cosy and/or romantic.

The table can always be moved into the central area of the trullo for more space and direct contact with the kitchen.  (We also move it when we play table tennis!  There is a net, bats and balls along with the rest of the games in lobby.)

The living area has a sofa-bed, wood burning stove, an armchair and a cupboard holding a variety of dvds and cds. There is a speaker set with a mp3/aux cable for you to plug into your devices. We also keep our candle supply here, so feel free to use these inside and out.

lamia

The Lamia is basically the villa we built onto the side of the trullo with the bedrooms and bathroom; only in Puglia, they call it a Lamia.

There are two bedrooms; the main one with our beautiful locally made iron double bed

and the second twin room, with two single beds which can also be pulled together and made up as a double bed.

We also have a sofa-bed in the Trullo which is a very comfortable double and the reason we say our Trullo sleeps 5-6.

If you are staying for longer than a week we will arrange for Rosanna to organise a linen change, so you will have fresh bedding and towels.  We also provide beach towels.

The bathroom has a shower, sink, bidet and loo.

On the shelves in the lobby there are novels, travel, language and cookery books and a wide selection of games.

We also have a  washing machine, washing line and/or drying carousel and an iron and ironing board.
